The Finders series of Field Guides by Nature
Nature Study Guild Publishers publishes books and Field guides to help people understand better and enjoy the natural world and plants and animals of the United States and Canada.
They have published Tree Finder and twenty-two other Finders Field Guides. They have published the Natural History Classic- Reading the Landscape of America by May Theilgaard Watts. Their field guides for identifying trees, berries, ferns, and flowers are all dichotomous keys and are widely used in schools, colleges and in nature programs to teach plant identification.
What is a dichotomous key?
A dichotomous key asks a series of questions about the plant you are trying to identify. Each question has two possibilities which makes you choose between them. Each choice leads you closer to the name of the species. (Dichotomous means dividing into two)
Key guides enable you to observe the plant structures closely and help you learn which plants are closely related to each other. Educators believe dichotomous keys are the best tools for learning to identify plants.

The Finders series of Field Guides
The Finders series includes 22 guides to identifying native plants and animals of the United States and Canada. These are 4â to 6â pocket-sized books, easier to use in the field. They are illustrated with line drawings that clearly show the important feature of the organism.
