Having A Better Cinematic Experience With Home Theater Receivers
Any set of multimedia equipment that has the THX logo on it is sure to attract some consumers that are looking for that full audio and video experience that they experience in the theaters. Many of the high-end models of different manufacturers strive for THX certification and the Onkyo HT-S9300THX Home Theater Receiver is just one of them. Unfortunately, the added THX logo spikes up the price so greatly that it may give the customer a second thought of purchasing the system especially if there are several home theater receivers that perform just fine without THX certification and cost much cheaper. The HT-S9300THX must prove that the THX premium adds enough value for these consumers to never look back.
The Onkyo HT-S9300THX was given its THX I/S Plus certification after the THX Company vigorously tested all the components in the unit. All seven speakers and subwoofers that come with the system were tested, as well as the receiver itself. The receiver features THX technologies like THX Surround EX and THX Loudness Plus. Users can easily switch between listening modes to suit their preferences. The Onkyo HT-S9300THX is ideal for small home theaters, allowing viewers to enjoy the theater experience at 8 feet from the screen. This unit has 130-watts allocated for each channel.
3D technology backs up the receiver because of the recent HDMI 1.4a specification that supports each of the 4 HDMI inputs. Tuners, gaming consoles, and Blu-Ray players can all be connected to the receiver, causing each component to be ready for 3D content as long as the TV and media player each support this technology. There is no need to use an S/PDID audio cable, thanks to the Audio Return Channel.
DVD players that are connected through HDMI can benefit to the HDMI video upscaling feature of the HT-S9300THX. Unlike other several other home theater receivers, the Onkyo HT-S9300THX uses the Faroudja Dcdi Cinema processor to bump up any source resolution to 1080p. At the same time, the processor removes unwanted articles and jaggies for improved image quality.
The incredible surround sound experience is powered by the Dolby Pro Logic IIz audio format that makes the front height speakers part of the entire sound envelope. This is an optional feature that replaces the two traditional surround speakers that are usually found on the back. The non-directional audio approach delivers improved immersion when watching movies or playing video games. Additional lossless formats are also supported because of the implementation of Burr-Brown audio DACs and PLL jitter cleaning circuit. Where a special microphone and speaker setup are used, the Audyssey room-correction serves as a means of calibration for the home theater system.
The HT-S9300THX is topped of with the proprietary A-OMF diaphragms that are layered with polyethylene naphthalate to give the products much better heat resistance and strength against harsh elements. It also leverages the existing audio technology by providing more natural sound. The Onkyo HT-S9300THX also includes a full set of speakers, unlike most other home theater receivers.
