Samsung is a force in the commercialization of flat display HDTV sets; it is one of the top brands available. The first generation of LCD TV sets were back-lighted by a series of cold-cathode fluorescent tubes, which emit a white light. Each picture element, or “pixel making up a TV picture is tiny spot on the screen that has 3 tiny filters that create the primary TV colors: red, green, and blue (RGB). The quality of the images you see on the UN40D6420UFXZA Samsung is improved by the Ultra Clear Panel which forms the front of the screen. This panel absorbs ambient light from the surroundings, which almost totally does away with the annoying reflections that would otherwise appear on the front of thescreen.
